Plains Equity and MKC Announce Intent to Consolidate

PLAINS, Kan. and MOUNDRIDGE, Kan. - The Board of Directors of both Plains Equity Exchange and Cooperative Union and MKC have unanimously approved and entered into a Letter of Intent to finalize an Agreement and Plan of Merger, which, if supported by the members of Plains Equity, would result in the merger of Plains Equity with MKC.

Accepting Entries for 2018 Co-op Month Coloring Contest

Students in Kindergarten through fourth grade are invited to participate in the contest. Entries will be split into five divisions: Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade and 4th grade. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each contestant group.

A Short Guide to GPS Grid Sampling

Soil testing is an essential practice for modern farming. The samples produced through testing allow precision ag specialists and agronomists to determine nutrient quantities and create a customized recommendation for the producer. Soil sampling simultaneously cuts the cost of inputs and helps optimize yield. There are a few common management systems used to sample a field, but MKC uses GPS grid soil sampling.
