Warmer weather comes with a lot of perks, but it also brings more flies that are bothersome to livestock. The bites from horned flies will cause cattle to change their behavior. Cattle will go off feed, go off their normal grazing pattern and spend more time under trees in the shade. Fly bites will also cause their milk production to go down as well.

MKC awards 20 students with $1000 scholarship

MKC is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2019 MKC Scholarship Program. Ten high school seniors and ten college students have been selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship for the 2019-2020 academic year. Since 2008, a total of $124,000 has been awarded through the MKC Scholarship Program.

MKC to Host 2019 Women's Meeting

The 2019 MKC Women’s Meeting will be hosted on Thursday, May 2 at the Atrium Hotel and Conference Center in Hutchinson. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner to start at 6 p.m. The event will conclude at around 8:30 p.m.

Plains Equity Members Approve Merger with MKC

PLAINS, Kan. and MOUNDRIDGE, Kan. – Plains Equity Exchange and Cooperative Union membership votes to approve unification with MKC. After a series of informational meetings, the owners of Plains Equity approved the merger with MKC by a super majority of 95% at a special vote meeting on April 4, 2019.

Plains Equity and MKC Announce Intent to Consolidate

PLAINS, Kan. and MOUNDRIDGE, Kan. - The Board of Directors of both Plains Equity Exchange and Cooperative Union and MKC have unanimously approved and entered into a Letter of Intent to finalize an Agreement and Plan of Merger, which, if supported by the members of Plains Equity, would result in the merger of Plains Equity with MKC.
