Don't Miss the 2018 Women's Meeting on May 3


MOUNDRIDGE, Kan. – The 2018 MKC Women’s Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 3 at the Atrium Hotel and Conference Center in Hutchinson, Kansas. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner to start at 6 p.m. The event will conclude at around 8:30 p.m.

New to the event this year includes an hour of networking and community service.  Guests are invited to come early at 4:30 p.m. to network and participate in a service project with the group. The organized service project includes building hygiene kits to donate to the Mennonite Central Committee. The bags will be distributed to families affected by disaster, and schools or orphanages to encourage healthy habits for children.

MKC will supply items to build the kits, but attendees are welcome to bring a few donations to help build more kits to donate to the Mennonite Central Committee. Contents of the kits consisting of new items only that can be brought to the event include: 
- adult-size toothbrushes (in manufacturer’s packaging)
- large bar bath soap (left in wrapper)
- nail clippers (good quality)
- hand towels (medium weight, dark or bright colors; approx. 16 in x 26 in)
- wide-toothed comb (6–8 inches)

The event will feature guest speaker Cristen Clark with Food & Swine. Cristen Clark is a part of the sixth generation on her family’s grain farm in central Iowa. She started the blog “Food & Swine” as a way to achieve contest-winning recipes and share tidbits about life on the farm. Cristen will reveal the undeniable value women posses in helping move the food and farming conversation in the right direction.
