2020 Food Drive Kicks-Off During Wheat Harvest

June 15, 2020

Throughout wheat harvest, MKC employees are joining together to help fill the shelves of area food banks through MKC's eighth annual food drive.

This is a great time to clean out your cabinets and bring in non-expired items and/or pick up a few extra items at the grocery store. Any amount of donation will go a long way and be greatly appreciated. Our goal is to donate 2,800 pounds of items to community food banks throughout our footprint.

If you don’t think you have the time to participate but still want to donate, there will be monetary donation tins at full-time MKC locations. Below is a brief list of suggested items most needed by food banks.

  • Personal Hygiene
    • Shampoo
    • Body wash
    • Toothbrushes and toothpaste
    • Bar soap
    • Feminine products
    • Deodorant
  • Paper products
    • Paper towels
    • Toilet papers
  • Canned fruits
  • Canned veggies
  • Juice
  • Applesauce
  • Rice/pasta
  • Boxed potatoes/stuffing
  • Canned meats
  • Dry cereal
  • Boxed milk/powdered milk
  • Soups
  • Boxed/canned dinners
  • Peanut butter & jelly
  • Baby food

The MKC Community Involvement Committee invites everyone to join them in their 2020 Food Drive by dropping off items at any full-time MKC location before July 15!
