The Annual Share the Warmth campaign, organized by members of the MKC Community Involvement Committee, is once again underway. The committee is asking employees, customers and community members to join the efforts by bringing hats, gloves or scarves to any MKC location.

In addition to hats, gloves or scarves, the drive is accepting new and gently used coats up through adult sizes.

Donations will be accepted at all MKC locations through October 31.  Items collected through the drive will be donated to local schools or shelter organizations throughout MKC’s region.2017-Share-the-Warmth-Campaign_Facebook-(2).jpg

"The Share the Warmth Campaign is an important cause as most people don't even realize there is a need for these items in our local communities," MKC Staff Accountant Sarah Unruh said. "There are so many different needs for warm clothing for people of all ages. This campaign is truly unique in that we never know the impact our donations and action might have on others."

Several MKC locations last year received donations totally more than 40 coats. The committee is hoping to reach another high number of warm items this year.

Unruh said donations of all kinds are excepted including sweaters or cardigans for a single mom, a hoodie for a teenager, gloves and hats for children at recess, work coat for a gentleman, etc.

"Any kind of warm item are things most of us take for granted," TMA Customer Service Manager Carrie Briscoe said. "This campaign is unique in itself as we give locally to small agriculture communities across the large territory in which we operate."
