When deciding where I wanted to attend college, I knew there was only one place I wanted to call my second  home. That is Kansas State University. This fall I will be entering my final year as a K-State Wildcat. I am very involved on and off campus in organizations including the K-State College of Agriculture Ambassadors, Gamma Phi Beta, and the K-State Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Club.

My name is Zoe Woolsoncroft, and I am originally from Salina, Kansas. Growing up I was involved in multiple organizations, but 4-H was my one of my favorites. Showing horses quickly became my passion. I started showing horses when I was 5-years-old, and that enticed my love for agriculture.

This summer I am the feed sales intern, located in Manhattan. There have been many lessons packed into a small amount of time so far, and I look forward to learning new things every day. This internship has been a great experience from the moment I stepped through the door. Meeting and communicating with the other interns about their stories and what they are contributing to MKC is one of my favorite parts. We all have different jobs, yet are all connected through our desire to work for a cooperative.

Zoe_Purina_Edited-(1).jpgOne of my tasks this summer is to run multiple trials on both equine and cattle to see what Purina products can help our customers bring their livestock to their full potential. With my equine background, I am most excited about some of the horse trials I am administering. We will have to wait until the end of the year to find out the results.

One of my favorite experiences so far was attending the Purina Range Cattle VIP Program at the Purina Animal Nutrition Farms in Gray Summit, Missouri. Attending the VIP Program gave me the knowledge to expand my understanding of cattle products and operations. Attending the program helped me gain confidence to meet with producers and discuss how we can best benefit their livestock together.

Finishing out the rest of the summer, I am looking forward to making new connections and maintaining my current relationships. I am beyond thankful for the opportunity to work for such a great company.
